2017 5. The First Hostage

By Joel C. Rosenberg

Rating:  3 out of 5

This is the sequel to The Third Target.  The Third Target ends in a cliffhanger.  Let me save you some trouble – the cliffhanger is not resolved until the last page of chapter 61 (of 72) in this book.  Like the first book, this book is very slow for over half the book, and is filled with jam-packed action in other parts.  Some of the action seems unrealistic to me.  I don’t think a reporter would really be asked/allowed to do what this reporter does.  I could be wrong, though.

2017 4. Flat Stanley

By Jeff Brown

Rating:  3.5 out of 5

It’s a children’s book – I know!  I was asked to take a Flat Stanley on a trip with me so I had to read the book.  It was written in 1964.  I found the little conversation on the last page of chapter 3 very interesting.  It seemed out of place.
